Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD) is part of the Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) and supplies innovative solutions for microscopy, spectroscopy, and microanalysis. Using scanning and transmission electron microscopes, Dual Beam FIB-SEMs, and spectrometers, combined with advanced software suites, our customers can go from questions to usable data by combining high-resolution imaging with physical, elemental, chemical, and electrical analysis. Work from home is only possible from the Czech Republic.

How will you make an impact?

The Data Analyst is a member of the Global Commercial Operations team. Primary results are developing and maintaining BI reports, using SQL databases, and providing detailed analyses on request. The ideal candidate is a professional with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SQL and additional programming languages, and PowerBI, and who is hard working and comfortable providing support for a global organization.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain PowerBI reports (inclusive comprehensive understanding of DAX language)
• Support database reporting/connectivity though Microsoft Excel.
• Leverage databases using SQL and additional languages to export data for analysis.
• Work with complicated Excel formulas and PowerBI dashboards within existing reporting tools.
• Partner with business analysts on technical design and coordinate development alongside business initiatives.
• Provide data-driven analyses to executive management related to Commercial and Financial processes.
• Team with Group IT and/or CRM team on database solutions for required reports.
• Support Microsoft Excel reporting as required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Bachelor’s or Master degree in Data Analysis, Business, Computer Science, or related degree.

• Proficient in SQL, Power BI, Python; experience & interests in AI, ML, Data Science would be preferred.
• Excellent Microsoft software skills (specifically Excel and PowerBI), including the ability to read and write complicated Excel and PowerBI formulas.
• Strong critical thinking, logical thinking and problem-solving, with excellent discernment to identify business opportunities and solutions to business issues.
• Experience in preparing customer facing presentations; strong presentation, reporting, and data visualization skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including communicating in writing and verbally with all levels of the division.
• Strong conceptual and analytical orientation, as well as creative and unstructured problem-solving skills; ability to apply those skills.
• Strong consulting skills.
• Proven sense of responsibility and an ability to work both autonomously, and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of CRM reporting tool (Dynamics 365) preferred.
• Ability to multi-task with sound attention to detail.
• Ability to follow critical timelines.

Experience:

• Significant working with database solutions.
• Good knowledge of developing PowerBI reports and using DAX language.
• Solid experience in providing analytical insights.
