How will you make an impact?

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the organization and coordination of manufacturing activities and the supervision of production employees in a safe environment. Provide employees with the tools vital to work safely and efficiently and provide positive employee motivation. Use Lean methodologies to optimize production outputs by reducing scrap rates, improving utilization, product quality and regulatory compliance. Use Project Management tools to optimize staff and manufacturing scheduling efficiencies. Strive to be viewed as a role model in terms of your behaviors and interactions not only within your team but across the whole operation. A strong customer focus is essential, and a key objective of this role will be to enhance service levels and overall customer experience while maintaining an efficient and safe manufacturing environment.

What will you do?

  • Lead and develop a team.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities according to corporate policies and procedures. Process staff time records and personal leave using corporate applications.
  • Partner with all functions on-site to ensure accurate and up-to-date training plans and curricula.
  • Promote production effectiveness by communicating and cooperating with other departments
  • Train and develop staff through coaching, leadership, and effective performance management to enhance and improve business results
  • Maintain appropriate staffing, interview applicants, and hire qualified candidates as business requires
  • Create and maintain a safe work environment by engaging staff in reporting potential safety hazards, support of the EH&S guidelines, and continual emphasis on safe work practices and working conditions
  • Investigate safety incidents, develop corrective actions with EH&S, and implement and communicate changes
  • Continuously assess the physical condition of the workplace regarding safety and ergonomic correctness. Implement 5S and maintain it through daily Gemba and audit processes
  • Use Leader Standard Work to focus on Lean Management, visual controls to assess actual versus expected, and maintain the discipline of daily accountability to drive improvement activities
  • Use visual management to track, monitor, and analyze production performance indicators, establish triggers, and ensure sustainable corrective actions are in place to improve quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiencies
  • Drive continued efficiency improvements through the effective use of metrics, 5S, and the PPI process. Recommend and implement changes in manufacturing procedures to improve product quality and production efficiency.
  • Participate in and embrace projects for new equipment and processes to improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Assist in the investigation of production problems and failures. Identify possible causes and coordinate with appropriate functional areas in finding solutions
  • Ensure that all production equipment is operating within specifications
  • Actively lead and participate in Kaizen events and improvement teams to reduce all forms of waste and improve the manufacturing efficiencies
  • Other duties may be assigned to help drive the operation's performance improvement and revenue growth.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Min’ practical engineer Degree in, Manufacturing, Science, or related field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training and meaningful work experience may be considered.

Experience

  • 2+ years of manufacturing or production experience in supervising production employees,
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Must possess the leadership and supervisory skills to be able to lead, coach, motivate, and empower a large number of employees, along with excellent interpersonal social skills to relate well to employees, peers, and various levels of management, and have a strong understanding of the impact on customers
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Confident, decisive, able to resolve any staff challenges, yet achieve an outcome where everybody wins
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
  • Good understanding of MRP Systems (preferably SAP)
  • Proficiency with computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn new computer systems quickly (Visio, MS Project)
  • Ability to determine root cause and implement robust corrective and preventive actions
  • Knowledge of FDA, cGMP, and ISO preferred.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing practices
