Job Description

The Position:

The Field Service Engineer is finished performing the on-site installation, servicing, and repair of the sophisticated equipment and systems. Investigate and approve the operational quality of system equipment.

Teaches customers about the operation and maintenance of the system.

Serves as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

Conducts on-site installations of the full range of FEI systems and their associated options.

Responsibilities and results include:

Conduct on-site installation of complete equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure accurate working order.

Conduct on-site scheduled planned maintenance visits.

Provide solving and repair support for customers and other field service personnel.

Nurture and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users, and company personnel Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support another FSE.

Complete and submit field service reports.

Provide training for customers and users on system maintenance.

Provide solutions to product quality teams.

Provide appropriate input in writing updating and correcting various FEI system documentation.

Provide solutions for various reports including identifying and isolating outstanding problems with the system.

Act as a subject authority and resource for training.

The Requirements:

This position is ideal for an expert service engineer wanting to be involved with a team with multifaceted strengths and exposure to a constant variety of customer application areas.

Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience in electronic systems.

Typically requires 1-5 years of hands-on technical experience installing, detecting, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar systems.

Experience in Detecting and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems is helpful.

Ability to deal optimally with customers.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Track record in solving sophisticated systems and subsystems down to the component level.
