Job Description

  • This position supports the Subject Relations departmental goal of ensuring complete Phase I volunteer satisfaction before, during and after study involvement increasing the probability of repeat study participation to maintain efficient and cost-effective recruiting. Promotes the Phase I Clinic to the Austin and surrounding areas to attract new volunteers all in an effort to completely enroll 100% of Phase I studies on time while working under general supervision of Manager.

    Experience as a behavioral health technician or in social services is a plus for this role.

    Responsibilities include:
    Facilitate volunteer complaints to an end result of volunteer satisfaction as related to involvement in Phase I studies Educate potential volunteers on the Clinics' facility and processes to promote their willingness to screen, enroll and complete Phase I studies to ensure successful enrollment of all studies Work with volunteers for possible reinstatement, assist Manager and Phone Recruiting with excluded volunteers and requests for information, and monitor subject feedback to ensure volunteer satisfaction with their Phase I experience. Communicates with volunteers regarding any negative findings from their screening physicals. Must maintain volunteer privacy and confidentiality Attend external community events representing PPD's Phase I Clinic to increase volunteer pool and ensure enrollment of all Phase I studies Collaborate with Subject Relations administrative staff to ensure volunteer activities are available at adequate levels and variety to prevent negative subject morale and to provide a pleasant environment for subjects housed in overnight facility

    Qualifications - External

    Education and Experience:

  • High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.  A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience with proven ability to ensure customer satisfaction and minimum of 1 year experience presenting to groups and working one-on-one with individuals.  An equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 2 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience
  • Customer focused with strong problem-solving abilities and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
