Job Description

Job Title:  Lead QC Technician

This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Position Summary:

To carry out scientific and technical tasks within the Microbiology Quality Control Department, including OOS/OOT investigations, documents review and ensure cGMP is applied in their area of work.

Responsibilities:

• To carry out scientific and technical tasks within the Microbiology Quality Control Department in an effective and efficient manner.
• To perform routine laboratory procedures; may oversee work of others within the section.
• To prepare technical documentation within the department, as the need arises.
• To train others, as required.
• To ensure that all personal lead times are aligned with, subject to there being no attenuating circumstances.
• To support and lead projects in the department.
• To develop and validate laboratory procedures.
• To review analytical and laboratory data for accuracy, completeness and compliance with documented procedures.
• To communicate optimally with others on site and to participate with departmental and site wide problem solving .
• To carry out other tasks as required from time to time.
• Ensure cGMP is applied in their area of work and comply with cGMP in all areas of the business.

EH&S:

• Understand emergency procedures and follow safe systems of work.
• Ensure compliance with environment, health and safety and security policies and procedures, rules, signage and instructions at all times
• Ensure timely reporting and investigation of all accidents, near misses and breaches of rules

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Degree in Applied Biology (with microbiology) or a closely related field / equivalent experience.
• Shown experience in Pharmaceutical Microbiology.
• Ability to work to critical timelines.
• A proactive approach
• Effective communication skills at all internal levels.
