Compensation Data
This position offers a $8,000 sign-on bonus.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist 1 (MLT/MT/MLS)for our 1st, 2nd or 3rd Shift Clinical Pathology Team located in Mattawan, MI.
A Medical Technologist (MLT/MT/MLS) is responsible for performing sample analyses and administrative duties, required by protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), on biological specimens from all species to produce sound, reliable data. The individual in this role may serve as a mentor for less-experienced personnel, provide backup for troubleshooting instruments, and uses good communication and interpersonal skills in a collaborative team environment.
Job Qualifications
- Certification preferred as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Medical Technologist (MT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with 1 or more years of relevant clinical laboratory experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and perform clinical laboratory procedures, both manually and using instrumentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical laboratory science.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn a validated system.
- Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts; sometimes on short notice.
- Ability to work under specific time constraints.
Physical Requirements
The functions of this role require to be able to physically:
- lift/move up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds frequently
- stand for extended periods of time
- walk long distances across the facility
- remain seated for extended periods of time
- utilize meticulous fine-motor skills
