When working with a team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, your work will have real-world impact, like helping customers in finding cures for cancer, protecting the environment or making sure our food is safe.Location/Division Specific InformationThis position is focused on service delivery excellence for Unity Lab Services, a division of Thermo Fisher responsible for providing onsite services at customers locations. We provide services at over 400 customer sites globally.Location: Boston, MA
Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
Pay: $24-26/hr, depending on experience
What will you do:Perform functional tasks/operations within the chemical management databaseProvide chemical assessments as required in support of Research operationsProvide basic and advanced client reports as required, including operational MetricsProvide training on operational and database processes to teammatesConduct/coordinate/support a physical inventory (‘Lab Audit’) program for the siteProvide support for onsite chemical storage, review, evaluation, and purgeSustain and maintain chemical stockroom inventoryReview, build, and maintain company data log sheetsPickup of hazardous wasteRegistration of chemicals into a chemical databaseDelivery of chemical packages within a laboratory environmentOrdering of stockroom supplies
How will you get here:

*Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check to include drug screening.
Education:
Possesses a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)Associates Degree, Biotechnology Course Certificate preferred, willing to consider experience in lieu of degree, preferred
Experience:2+ years of progressive proven experience in the biotech service industry, preferredComputer/software skills. (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Requires the ability to read, write and speak English
Demonstrate verbal, written and presentation skills
Maintain a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher
Maintains Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Four-I Values
Experience in laboratory setting or services preferred; experience in cGMP environment preferred
Excellence in customer service skills
Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes team environment
Have a strong desire to serve the customer, and the interpersonal skills to deal with various levels of personnel at the customer site
Must deliver excellent customer service
Maintain a professional appearance at all times
Must possess the operating skills to use hand held scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as needed
Must be proficient with a computer and the Microsoft Office suite of software
Demonstrates basic leadership abilities
Have shown initiative in previous work experience
Show concern for well being and success of others
Must possess professional communication skills to provide mentorship to others in performing the work, to effectively present information and respond to questions or customer service requests and interact with various levels of the customer’s organization
Must be able to provide suggestions for corrective action and preventive customer service
Must be organized and detail oriented to prioritize own and other’s work and meet business needs
Must be able to apply good judgment and decision-making skills in dealing with a variety of routine and non-routine issues
