Summary

This role will manage the development and administration of regional corporate personnel activities, programmes, policies, and procedures for the APAC region (namely Singapore, Australia, India, South Korea). The role-holder would also be responsible for coordinating recruitment, retention, employee relations and personnel record-keeping activities and the administration of the benefits and compensation programme. 

Esssential Duties & Responsibities

  • Develop and administer region specific human resources policies and procedures, ensuring consistency with corporate policies, procedures, practices and programs
  • Support the harmonization of job architecture regionally ensuring consistency of application on all job roles/families
  • Build relationships with local recruitment service providers regionally to determine benchmarking and trend analysis across region on an annual basis
  • Manage the regional rollout and administration of corporate human resources policies and procedures, including corporate benefits and compensation programs
  • Function as a proactve liaison between site, region and corporate Human Resources Department and work in conjunction with corporate Human Resources to encourage Human Resources as the source for guidance,including interpretation of Human Resources policies, procedures, practices and programs
  • Ensure proper maintenance of physical and electronic employment-related records and mandatory employment-related postings; ensure compliance with Charles River policy and with all applicable country laws. Audit data as necessary
  • Coordinate regional recruitment efforts. Coordinate with corporate Human Resources on the use of company-wide resources as necessary
  • Integrate the culture of Microbial Solutions as a value proposition across all sites regionally
  • Develop and roll out the Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity and Inclusion functions of the business within APAC
  • Conduct and/or assist with investigations related to any performance and disciplinary matters
  • Provide consultation to managers in a variety of HR-related areas, including organizational development, performance management, recruitment and retention, and compensation administration
  • Independently handle routine and moderately complex employee relations issues, ensuring consistency with corporate policies and practices. Assist Corporate and Division Human Resources in the resolution of complex issues (eg. sexual harassment or discrimination claims, employment-related lawsuits)
  • Manage annual performance review process. Administer proposed salary adjustments and annual performance reviews with supervisory and management personnel
  • Lead all HR functions on site to incluyde Employee Engagement Surveys, Learning Management Systems, Diversity & Inclusion, and Wellbeing
  • Provide leadership and act as a participant in site events, community-related events which are in support of employees or company
  • Coordinate training programs, such as supervisory and management training, and conduct new employee orientation programs. Monitor the region's ongoing training needs and programs and ensure ongoing applicability/effectiveness
  • Become the HR Ambassador for the site on all HR matters as an advocate for APAC
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent in human resources management, business administration or related discipline
  • 6-8 years related experience in multiple Asian countries
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above
  • Must be able to travel throughout Asia
  • Professional HR Certification preferred
  • Effective communication and supervisory skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Experienced in the use of HRIS and payroll systems : SAP and SuccessFactors preferred but not essential 
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Bilingual (English/Mandarin) preferred
