Global Pharmaceutical Data Manager

Data Services is a centre of expertise within IQVIA providing key input to the development and ongoing support of global pharma data offerings such as MIDAS, OTCims, Pricing Insights, etc. These offerings are key commercial data analytical tools for IQVIA headquarter clients.  

The expertise provided by the Data Services team is focussed on data content knowledge and data management processes. The key subject matter knowledge required is of pharmaceuticals and global pharmaceutical industry processes, as well as data management.    

This role will provide expert data analysis, guidance, and leadership in the development of new data and processes for the global offerings, as well as support of the existing offerings.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide expert guidance, analysis and leadership in projects and activities to enhance data and processes in IQVIA global offerings
    • Co-ordinate and lead activities within projects
    • Provide input to requirements for new data/processes
    • Carry out data and process analyses as input to new data or enhancing existing data
    • Creation of business rules if required
    • Co-ordinate and participate in data quality/testing activities for new data/processes

  • Provide expert guidance, analysis, and leadership in activities to support existing IQVIA global offerings
    • Co-ordinate and lead activities
    • Carry out data analyses and investigations into data and process issues
    • Investigate and provide input to keeping data business rules and definitions up to date
    • Provide guidance on interpretation of data business rules
    • Analysis and response to questions and escalations originating from:  external clients, internal commercial teams, internal users of global offerings, internal development and data teams
      • Investigation and interpretation of results to identify answers/explanations
      • Provision of answers providing guidance and interpretation (suitable for external clients)

  • The above data management activities cover all types of pharmaceutical information and pharmaceutical industry processes.
    • For example, the global offerings include analyses across countries for brands, corporations, and molecules 
    • In addition, at a lower level of detail, the evolution of generics and biosimilars, new active substance launches, sales by disease, drug approvals, measures of packs/dosage sold, therapy areas, dosage forms, prices etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Graduate – Biomedical scientist, pharmacist, or equivalent biomedical subject expertise
  • Knowledge of key issues and current developments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of pharmaceutical products/therapy areas and pharmaceutical industry processes
  • Varied experience of working in pharmaceutical-related environments – publishing or database company or consultancy/agency or a pharmaceutical company; preference is for a variety of different relevant organisations
  • In depth understanding of IQVIA internal data processes, terminology and systems, or the capability to quickly gain this knowledge if no current experience of IQVIA systems exists
  • Confident, authoritative, expert presence
  • Leadership skills in an expert capacity and in progressing delivery from other individuals
  • Ability to self-learn and work autonomously
  • Proven data analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical approach
  • Effective communicator in multiple forms to a variety of levels –other experts and senior colleagues
  • Excellent English both verbal and written; the business language and documentation is in English and detailed guidance and responses to clients/internal teams are in English
  • Commercial perspective
  • Proven experience of working effectively in a team
  • Standard MS Office skills; in particular, use of Excel for analyses
