The Employee Relations Supervisor plays a crucial role in fostering positive employer-employee relationships within Labcorp. This position is responsible for overseeing a team who will help leaders to promote policies, programs, and initiatives to ensure a healthy and productive work environment. In addition, this role will oversee a team who is responsible for supporting/processing employee and leadership inquiries or requests.  The role is accountable for guiding the team, setting performance goals, managing team performance and overall results of the team.  The role will routinely interact with other global HR leaders to resolve issues and improve the employee experience.  

Duties and Responsibilities:List the core tasks and responsibilities associated with the role.

  • Responsible for supervising a team of employee relations experts which includes hiring, daily support, coaching, scheduling/delegating work, conducting performance reviews and determining pay/promotions. 
  • Uses metrics, feedback and customer satisfaction surveys to coach and guide team to continuously improve the services.
  • Oversees workload allocation for team, routinely interacts with global colleagues to ensure overall workload has adequate coverage. 
  • Leverages their depth and breadth of HR experience to resolve local/regional/global issues for HR and the business areas they support. Vendor interactions/contact, as required.
  • Responsible for system Administration and data expertise,  with ability to address and resolve system queries (e.g., case management, knowledgebase, portal, ATS, LMS, HRIS)
  • Receives initial / first level escalations and exception requests, handles special cases and complex queries in the respective area of expertise.
  • Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, terminations, and other employment-related matters.
  • Consistently provides practical/relevant ideas and perspectives on process or practice improvements which may easily be implemented.
  • Collaborate with HR and legal teams to develop and update employee relations policies.
  • Ensure consistent application and enforcement of policies throughout the organization insofar as it related to their area of concern.
  • Compile and analyze employee relations data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Progression into this role depends on consistently demonstrated competence and depth/breadth of experience; demonstrated mentoring and coaching staff and leadership in handling complex issues.

Minimum Education and Experience Required: State the minimum level of education and professional experience required to be qualified for the role.

  • Advanced Degree, or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience;
  • 5+ years HR experience preferred
  • 3+ years employee relations or service delivery experience - developing as HR SME and coaching/mentoring others
  • 2+ years people management experience

Preferred Qualifications: List any preferred qualifications that could benefit the role but are not essential.

  • HR Subject Matter Expertise across HR disciplines or in-depth within Employee Relations, Payroll, Leaves administration or HR data administration and support
  • Graduate or Masters in Human resources or management studies.

Skills and Competencies: Outline the skills and competencies required for the role. This can include soft skills and technical skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with HRIS and case management systems, preferably Workday and Service Now
  • Demonstrated proficiency across HR disciplines and/or Expertise within specific subject matter (e.g., payroll, rewards, leaves management, employee systems/data); Knowledge of core HR policies and supporting processes.

Working Conditions:Describe the environment in which the employee will work, including any physical requirements or travel expectations.

  • Initially office based, followed by hybrid office/remote work pending proficiency/results of team.
  • Minimal travel (5-10%) may be required locally or internationally.
