Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an ambitious and proven professional to join our team as the Director, Procurement – Product Services and MRO. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of sophisticated global category strategies to continuously improve the Product Services and MRO category spend.
Responsibilities:
- Connect key sourcing categories with all levels within Thermo Fisher business divisions to ensure alignment of strategies and financial targets
- Develop and implement multi-year category sourcing strategies that reduce total cost of ownership without compromising quality and service level requirements
- Champion the use of structured Category Management process to develop category strategies, including supplier diversity, sustainability, risk assessment, and business continuity
- Communicate plans and progress to Enterprise colleagues
- Lead end-to-end sourcing process, including supplier qualification, RFP, contract development, implementation, compliance, and ongoing supply base management
- Assess market intelligence for key trends and make risk mitigation recommendations
- Drive supplier consolidation through engagement with Division Business Partners and Group Procurement Operations
- Foster adoption of global sourcing strategies across the enterprise and promote collaboration
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required, Graduate Degree in Business (Preferred), Finance, and/or Technical field
- Minimum 12 years of procurement/sourcing experience with increasing global responsibility in Product Services or MRO categories
- 5+ years of experience leading and running procurement teams with a focus on mentoring, coaching, and performance management
- Strong leadership and effective business partnering capabilities
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing and category management
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to make decisions or recommendations based on potentially incomplete information
- Capable of working across all functions and levels of an organization
- International experience is a plus
