A role for epigenetics in psoriasis: methylated Cytosine-Guanine sites differentiate lesional from nonlesional skin and from normal skin

Abstract
DNA methylation is one of several epigenetic mechanisms that can lead to stable and heritable changes in gene expression without changing the underlying DNA sequence. In this issue, Roberson et al. demonstrate that lesional skin in psoriasis is accompanied by changes in DNA methylation, which revert back to baseline with treatment, indicating that DNA methylation in psoriasis is dynamic.
