In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".</p> <p><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Schedule: Monday -- Friday 11:00pm -- 7:30am</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Department: Microbiology</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Location: 550 17^th Ave. Seattle, WA</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Job Duties/Responsibilities: </span></strong></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Assist with processing of specimens when needed</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment</span></li> </ul> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Job Requirements:</span></strong></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Must have a BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or other related science (or 24 credits in Chemistry/Biology constituting a biological science major) as required by CLIA.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Ability to work independently and within a team environment</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: "Times New Roman" , serif;">Proficient with computers;
