Sr. Manager, Technical Sales (Bioscience portfolio)

Provides strong strategic and operational leadership to team of Technical Sales Specialists (TSS) to ensure that Bioscience Division (BID) growth targets are met across all markets and product lines.  Ensures that teams operate within regional goal trees in areas of booking/revenue growth, sales process optimization, BU collaboration, funnel development and employee development. Embrace and live 4I values. Leads TSS ensuring alliance across all business areas within region and wider areas. Works closely and drives business growth with all BIS Sales, Sales Support, Marketing, Regional TSS Lead to ensure optimal account and business development.

What will you do?

Commercial Leadership:

  • Direct management of Technical Sales Specialists in BID.
  • Achieve the Annual Operating Target (AOT) for the assigned product portfolio through driving efficient management and communication strategy.
  • Active collaboration with division/division leadership team to develop strategies and action plans and tactics to increase our market penetration.
  • Communicate with BID’s leadership teams in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation.

Selling Agility & Market Insight:

  • Uses all sales key performance indicators to drive specific initiatives and to support feedback and/or recommendations to business partners.
  • Assess and identify growth opportunities by market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer needs analysis.
  • Manage market performance for portfolio in conjunction with APJ TSS leader and BID sales team- gap-to-close analysis and corrective actions as required.
  • Perform detailed analysis and reporting (i.e. Region revenue, unit/solution actual sales to forecast, campaign implementation status and results, KPIs) so that appropriate actions can be planned.

Technical Expertise:

  • Coaches team to understand competitive landscape and how this relates to customer workflows.
  • Assesses the team's understanding of the competitive landscape and brings in necessary resource to close competitive intelligence needs.
  • Coaches team to understands the product portfolio and how this relates to key application areas.
  • Consistent tracking and analysis of cutting-edge technologies using relevant our product line portfolio.

How will you get there?

  • ​A minimum of 10 years’ commercial business experience in the Life Sciences industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as life science, biology or equivalent major.
  • Extensive people leadership track record, to include managing within a matrixed environment with the ability to inspire, influence and lead others.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop sales strategy and translate strategy into a tactical plan that achieves and drives top line growth with experience in managing large-revenue businesses with a potential for huge growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a complex matrix environment being comfortable with ambiguity and conflicting goals.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and influence others to move projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business Level or above in English (verbal/written)
  • Proficient at Excel and good presentation skill (written and verbal)
