The Recombinant Proteins Business Development Manager is responsible for finding opportunities of Thermo Fisher recombinant proteins in the market, help to convert these opportunities into business results. The role will be the key sources to create the overall account and market strategy, and be responsible for collaborating with various sales channels to create growth strategies, developing relationships at the senior level (C-V-D level Titles), plan and implement an account strategy which are designed to improve capture of share of spend, via coordinated activities with the sales channels. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess new market opportunities for recombinant protein applications. Develop strategies to penetrate these markets effectively by positioning our products within specific workflows.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key customers, including researchers, scientists, and key decision-makers in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic sectors, emphasizing the value of our recombinant protein products within their workflows.
  • Create business strategies incorporating recombinant proteins, field sales organizations and marketing goals and objectives to drive growth and improve market share, identifying key areas of short-term and long-term growth.
  • Develop positive relationships with Account Executives, Scientific Key Opinion Leaders, Procurement, and other influential contact, to ensure mutually beneficihelpfuls results for Thermo Fisher and the account.
  • Lead the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification to closing deals and handling long-term customer relationships, with a focus on understanding and addressing customer workflow needs.
  • Lead the interface between the account, and appropriate Thermo Fisher Scientific teams. Conduct regular business updates to key collaborators within client company and within Thermo Fisher.
  • Identify emerging key accounts and coordinate with local teams to support.
  • Leverage knowledge of the product portfolio to assist customers in developing experiments and defining timelines.
  • Identify specific growth initiatives, gain customer agreement, and drive local execution across sales channels.
  • Ensure a well-adapted process to define, communicate, activate, implement, and performance managment strategic choices and initiatives that will drive achievement of goals.

Minimum Qualifications (must have):

  • A minimum master’s degree in a Life Sciences field, domain expertise in stem cell, or immunology, or neuroscience. 
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience with a consistent track record for sales achievement interacting with and influencing procurement, scientific, and C-suite customers.
  • A strong great teammate with consistent record to coordinate across a team of resources not directly reporting.
  • Consistent track record to coordinate activities and influence actions of our commercial and channel representatives to drive critical initiatives.
  • Have a greater understanding of the competitive landscape in the customer base.
  • Possess strong analytical capabilities in order to assess and understand profitability of customer relationships so as to effectively partner and negotiate.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good business English is required.
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Energetic, motivated and resourceful.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within assigned territory (up to 70%).

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):

  • A PhD in a Life Sciences disciplines, hands on experiences of stem cell, organoid and immunology are plus.
  • MBA or professional business education in addition highly desirable
  • Previous experience with biopharma accounts
  • Matrix management and / or cross functional experience
  • Strong analytical skills including basic financial training
  • Excellent in oral and written English
