黄斑光凝固研究(MPS)

MPS グループが実施した各無作為化試験では、焦点レーザー光凝固術を治療なしの観察と比較しました。 患者は、レーザー治療または観察に等確率で割り当てられました。 MPS 無作為試験の最初のセットである Argon Study は、別個の中心窩外脈絡膜血管新生を伴う眼におけるアルゴン青緑色レーザーによる光凝固の有効性に焦点を当てました。 1979 年に患者の募集を開始した研究者は、550 人の AMD 患者と 750 人の POH 患者が必要になると推定しました。 追跡調査は、アルゴンレーザー光凝固療法がこれらの患者の視力低下を予防または遅延できるかどうかを判断するために 5 年間継続することになっていました。

アルゴン、クリプトン、および中心窩研究の一般的な適格基準:
適格であるためには、男性および女性は、研究への参加時に、視力低下またはアムスラーグリッド歪みなどの黄斑病変に起因する視覚症状を経験していなければなりません。 彼らはまた、フルオレセイン血管造影で、古典的な脈絡膜新生血管の特徴である、明確に区別された目に見える過蛍光を持っていたにちがいありません。 AMD 患者は 50 歳以上で、少なくとも片眼の黄斑にドルーゼンが認められました。 POH 患者は 18 歳以上で、片目または両目に少なくとも 1 つの特徴的な組織斑がありました。 INVM 患者は 18 歳以上であり、AMD、POH、アンギオイド線条、強度近視、糖尿病性網膜症、または血管新生の原因となりうるその他の状態の証拠はありませんでした。 特に、INVM 患者は、MPS 標準写真 No. 1.1 を超えるドルーゼンも、どちらの眼にも組織斑がありませんでした。
