Loma Linda University started a new clinical trial of robotic prosthetic leg

Loma Linda University is commencing recruitment for the clinical trial of the Design, Prototyping, and Testing of a Robotic Prosthetic Leg.

The purpose of this graduate student research study is to test that a specifically designed and novel robotic prosthetic leg (RPL) is feasible, safe and improves symmetry, efficiency, and metabolic function during sit-to-stand and stand-to-sit transitions as compared to the subject's prescribed device, and as compared to no device at all.

The trial is designed to enrol male and female 18 to 65 years and is being conducted in the Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, California, United States.

The study start date is November 6, 2020.

The study population that can be accepted into this study includes patients with unilateral limb-loss, amputation or knee disarticulation/transfemoral amputation. The patients who can walk with a variable cadence or play sports, use a prosthesis for walking daily, can stand for 30 seconds on one limb, can follow one-step commands have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials.

Loma Linda University ( Loma Linda, California, United States, 92354) is the recruitment location.
