Duties & Responsibilities

Here are some of your duties and responsibilities as Senior Consultant:

  • You take responsibility for ensuring that client work is performed and delivered on time, meeting the quality expectations and in accordance to Standardized Methodology/SOPs.
  • You demonstrate expertise within a work stream as well as sound understanding of the client questions on the project and the analytical steps required to solve it. You produce client-ready analyses and take increased responsibility for planning and data outputs.
  • You design and develop transparent and user-friendly health economics models of healthcare interventions (in R and MS-Excel) throughout the product life cycle, pre- and post-launch, for global and local use, delegating and supervising some of the work to more junior staff. You will perform model validation, and you will be responsible for project deliverables (like user guides, model protocol and technical report) as well as abstracts and manuscripts for publication.
  • You work independently delivering services within your area of competence, you are accountable for your deliverables, and you partner professionally - at all working levels - within a client organization and within Parexel. Excellent time management, project management and communication skills.
  • You propose opportunities to improve project efficiency, results or team performance and you proactively take action. You develop best practices guidelines for relevant areas (internal / external).
  • You also support other activities as needed (e.g., draft proposals and budgets, develop relations with colleagues within the company) and start supporting the growth of the business through the development of strong client relationships.
  • You will define your own self-development activities with the support of management to keep current within the industry and can request to work with a mentor to enhance your expertise.
  • This is a client-facing role. You proactively assess client needs and develop processes and solutions to address issues. You act as a role model for teams, and a representation for the organization. You personally ensure client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications (AND)
  • Advanced degree (e.g. PhD, MSc, MTech, MA) or equivalent in either life science or a quantitative discipline, such as health economics, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering or computer science.
  • 4-8 years of experience in Access or HEOR Consulting, or in a Pharma company’s Value Evidence / Access / HEOR department with a proven track record of deliverables (models, protocols and/or technical reports, dossiers, submissions, …), or in a similar environment
  • Demonstrated experience in one of the following therapeutic areas: oncology, rare diseases, infectious diseases, Multiple Sclerosis / neurology, cell and gene editing technologies.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, drug development process and HTA or reimbursement processes
  • Publication of abstracts at conference and of peer-reviewed manuscripts as main or co-author
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages like R (with use of common, tidyverse, HEOR and/or Shiny package; Markdown, debugging, and R-Shiny apps deployment), and Excel VBA
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A high degree of written accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, both oral and in writing, especially in the relaying of technical information
  • Fluent English

Additional Positive Qualifications (OR/AND)
  • Experience in hands-on model development from scratch including background research, model conceptualization, model implementation and presentation of model findings in different disease areas. Development of budget impact models and early and late-stage cost effectiveness models. Experience of writing health economics section of market access and HTA submissions’ documents.
  • Experience of model adaptations for different markets to support HTA submissions. Understanding of the market access environment and challenges globally.
  • Primary research or conducting workshop with key opinion leaders (KOLs)
  • Strong knowledge of various economic evaluation techniques in different settings
  • Understanding of additional language(s), especially from HTA countries
