We are looking for a IACUC Administrator to join our Insourcing Solutions team for an upcoming contract located in Washington, DC.This is a full-time position, role will be on site a minimum of 20 hours per week; remaining hours may be worked remotely.

What you will do! In this role, you will provide administrative and clerical support for the functioning of the Institute Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).  You will handle secretarial, clerical, organizational and administrative support duties and provide coordination and planning/scheduling of activities. Interact with customers and serve as a point of contact for the IACUC to help solve requests and concerns, answer phones and take detailed messages. Assist in maintaining the calendar for meetings, Semi-Annual site inspections, and AAALAC inspections; in addition, set up appointments and keep a central calendar of key dates for group projects. Assist in coordinating meetings to include preparing agendas, circulating documentation, assigning primary/secondary reviews of new animal use protocols and amendments, attend IACUC meetings, take attendance and meeting notes, write minutes, get them approved and signed, then forward to appropriate offices/individuals.

As the IACUC Administrator you will track protocols, amendments, annual reviews, and provide other reports and services, as well as review for missing items. You will be responsible for sending approval letters to PIs, sending reminders and track compliance of Animal Use Protocols, in addition to tracking and filing all the correspondence between PIs and veterinarians accordingly. Assist with data gathering and completion of annual reports of animal use (USDA, AAALAC, and DoD Data Call); prepares and submits written records, charts, logs, and inventories. You will perform data entry to include word processing (typing minutes, manuscripts, and reports), personnel training and Animal Exposure Surveillance Program. Excel (prepare lists and charts of protocols, personnel, animal facilities/labs and supplies). Finally, organizes, maintains, and protects confidentiality of office files about IACUC activities. 

Who are we looking for?

A candidate that possesses a bachelor’s degree or higher in life sciences; minimum of 5 years of experience working in animal programs supporting veterinary staff or scientists. AALAS certification required.
