Symphony Health is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to join our Media & Advanced Analytics team, which focuses on innovative solutions to healthcare-related business problems going beyond traditional row-and-column datasets to include unstructured data and image data. We’re looking for a self-motivated Data Scientist who can independently analyze data and produce quality presentations based on the resulting predictive systems for both internal and external clients, while supporting privacy, driving project implementation, and supporting revenue needs.

LOCATION:Blue Bell, PA USA (must be office-based 3 days per week)

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

  • Focused on media analytics for both healthcare practitioners and consumers
  • Use the most appropriate data modelling / machine learning principles and tools to design, explore, and build scalable data solutions, potentially from source systems through to the presentation layer
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand the operational challenges and goals, and to then explore, design, and build appropriate data solutions to meet those goals and alleviate the business challenge
  • Work to differentiate ICON from competitors by exploring and developing solutions that drive meaningful outcomes for customers
  • Monitor and be aware of trends in technology, data sciences, and business practice in the pharmaceutical industry, and provide advice and recommendations on emerging artificial intelligence / machine learning trends and applications
  • Work to deliver maximum customer value for minimum cost

  • Create project charters involving business problem definition, business value, performance metrics, success criteria, scope, and milestones
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as customers and internal IT teams) to understand business needs, ensure data integrity and flow efficiency, and to create tools for customer utilization
  • Provide quality validations and on-going support of client and projects
  • Ensure quality control to evaluate the accuracy of deliverable and/or project analysis

TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU WILL NEED:

  • 5+ years of related experience handling, managing, and analyzing data
  • 5+ years of SQL or SAS experience (SQL experience is strongly preferred, but SAS is acceptable)
  • Understanding of statistics and/or statistical modelling
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work as a team player and individually
  • Experience with healthcare data or healthcare claims is strongly preferred
  • Python and/or R experience is preferred
  • Associate degree
  • Ability to work in the Blue Bell, PA office 3 days per week (Greater Philadelphia Area)
