The Sustainability Analyst is responsible for supporting the implementation of the sustainability strategy of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Material and Structural Analysis Division within the Analytical Instruments Group. The position supports the Sustainability Program Leader to drive a multisite portfolio of programs and workstreams on sustainability, working on projects to implement the strategy.

The ideal candidate has prior experience/expertise on sustainability, strong project management credentials, thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, collaborates well across all areas of an organization, and learning agility.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support projects in the Division Sustainability Strategy, that may include but are not limited to:

    • Pilot projects for product environmental label/certification and manage a multi-year roadmap

    • Work with onsite EHS and Facilities teams to improve environmental and energy management systems and performance (carbon, energy, water and waste)

    • Review global sustainability-related regulations and adapt programs accordingly

  • Respond to sustainability-related requests from our customers

  • Support the Sustainability Lead to update and improve the Division Sustainability Strategy

  • Align Division programs, policies and strategies with Thermo Fisher Scientific company goals and approaches

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental / Sustainability field

  • 3+ years experience in a sustainability-related role

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and reporting frameworks

  • Strong data analysis and project management skills

  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and collaborative partner

  • Experience working with projects and teams globally

  • Self-motivated with capacity to learn quickly in a high transparency role

  • Willing to travel 0-25%
