Location:  Benson, VT

The Binding Site VT specializes in the production of polyclonal antibodies, primarily in sheep, and is part of a larger diagnostic company based in England. We currently have a part-time, 20-hour position available for a Facilities Specialist on our busy USDA registered sheep farm and laboratory in Benson, VT.

Discover Impactful Work:

The part time Facilities Specialist is responsible for supporting staff with respect to maintenance of site locations, vehicles, equipment, storage locations and areas, to a high standard of organization and cleanliness and is expected to operate safely, efficiently, and effectively.

A day in the Life:

Support and assist facility, vehicle, and equipment maintenance across all locations.

To include (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Buildings
  • Roads and walkways
  • Fence lines.
  • General grounds, including mowing, weed whacking, and snow removal.
  • Farm vehicles
  • Farm equipment
  • Perform routine equipment checks to defined schedules.
  • Ability to navigate PM database system and other computer work.
  • Offload and load delivery trucks.
  • Run errands in support of farm operations and maintenance projects/repairs.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in relevant facility support role.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with operating farm equipment preferred.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills (written and verbal)
  • Able to communicate at all levels.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads.
  • Attention to detail.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Dependability, reliability, and comfortable working in all weather extremes.
  • Must be flexible due to the unpredictable nature of maintenance and servicing requirements, including working outside of regular hours providing support when needed.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds +/-
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling
  • Reaching, twisting, turning
  • Walk on uneven, wet, slippery surfaces.
