How will you make an impact?

We are seeking a Warehouse Shift Lead (interim) / tillförordnad skiftledare/ as an acting shift lead to our Distribution and warehouse in the Immunodiagnostics Division located in Uppsala, Sweden.

The role is fixed-term cover and is currently planned until 31/12-2024. 

The position is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily operations and ensures achievement of department metrics such OTIF (On Time In Full). Not only does this role communicate priorities and delegate orders and workload to colleagues but they are also a team member and contribute to picking and packing processes. Through know-how and planning, they will coordinate staff to best make use of resources during their shift.

The Warehouse Shift Lead (interim) will participate in the leadership & steering team for Distribution and will have frequent collaboration and dialog with other departments and adjacent functions. 

In conjunction with the Resource Lead, they will plan and ensure correct staffing levels and competencies to meet daily targets. Furthermore, together with the other Warehouse Shift Lead they are encouraged to establish a structured handover process with the other shift.

The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork skills. They will work actively to coach and support colleagues and create a safe and competent work environment where individuals embrace Thermo Fisher’s 4i values. The role will have frequent contact and follow-ups with operators to align individual development and advancement. They will coordinate onboarding and mentoring of new staff as well as ensure fulfillment of new training to balance competency among team resources.

The Warehouse Shift Lead will promote communication, problem solving and continuous improvement (PPI) by methods such as daily tier board meetings (Visual Peformance Managment) and they will maintain a high level of quality by reporting deviations and non-conformities.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in warehousing and team leadership/management.
  • Post-secondary education or high school qualifications
  • A proven ability to deliver results
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in Swedish (and even in English is a merit)
  • Ability to make quick and confident decisions based on established procedures, policy and standards
  • Experience in organizing and assigning shift tasks and holding staff accountable
