In return, we’ll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. Job Summary We are seeking a Lab Technician I for our Serology department at our Wilmington location. This is a part-time (24 hours per week), temporary opportunity.

The position is responsible for independently performing laboratory activities including but not limited to reagent preparation, laboratory maintenance / monitoring, and routine testing of client samples by the various serologic methods in compliance with departmental SOPsImmunoassay methods: IFA MFIA Reconcile customer paperwork with submission documentation to ensure accuracy Assist in the receipt of samples to be tested Document sample receipt using the Central Receipt database Knowledge of various sample types and storage conditions Follow instructions on sample submission forms for sample organization Knowledge of proper sample dilution technique Transfer samples to holding plates either manually or with the aid of a sample transferring device Perform at least two serologic assays with minimal supervision (IFAand MFIA) Operate and maintain pipettes Proficiently prepare, label and store departmental media and diluents in proper conditions Share responsibility for maintaining appropriate inventory levels of departmental supplies Proficiently prepare samples for additional testing in another lab within the company or to an outside source. Document results to include creating orders and results data entry into laboratory database in a timely fashion Work productively in group situations as well as independently Report departmental exceptions to the manager or designee as instructed General knowledge of the lab processes Maintain skills in using computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and others as the need arises Adhere to all departmental SOPs, policies, safety procedures and protocols Work productively in a fast paced environment Perform all other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent in biological sciences or related discipline 1 to 3 years related experience in a Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Contract Research Organization or working in alaboratory environment An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above Proficient in MS Office Suite. Attention to detail and accuracy. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in working in a laboratory environment,operatinglaboratory equipment, specifically pipettes, microscopes and other laboratory equipment. .
