- Outwardly healthy,
- birthweight > 2,500 g
- term births
- residents in Moronacocha, Iquitos, Loreto
Exclusion Criteria:
- Obvious signs of illness or malnutrition
- birthweight < 2,500 g
- preterm birth
- not a resident of Moronacocha, Iquitos, Loreto
