Detailed Description
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a Tidal Model-based psychiatric nursing intervention in clinical practice and to emphasize the importance of holistic, patient-centered approaches in nursing care for patients with anxiety disorders.
Study Hypotheses:
Hypothesis 1 (H1): The psychological resilience levels of individuals who receive the Tidal Model-based psychiatric nursing approach are statistically significantly higher after the intervention compared to the individuals in the control group.
Hypothesis 2 (H2): The self-compassion levels of individuals who receive the Tidal Model-based psychiatric nursing approach are statistically significantly higher after the intervention compared to the individuals in the control group.
Hypothesis 3 (H3): The psychological resilience levels of individuals in the intervention group show a statistically significant increase after the intervention compared to before the intervention.
Hypothesis 4 (H4): The self-compassion levels of individuals in the intervention group show a statistically significant increase after the intervention compared to before the intervention.
Null Hypothesis (H0): There is no statistically significant difference between the intervention and control groups in terms of psychological resilience and self-compassion levels after the intervention.

Participant Group / ArmParticipant Group / Arm |
Intervention / TreatmentIntervention / Treatment |
|---|---|
|
Experimental: Intervention Group
Participants in this group receive one-on-one online psychiatric nursing interventions based on the Tidal Model, conducted via remote video conferencing.
The sessions aim to enable patients to recognize their inner strengths and to increase their psychological resilience and self-compassion levels.
|
One-on-one nursing sessions were conducted via online video conferencing platforms based on the philosophy of the Tidal Model.
The intervention involves session processes aligned with the model's domains (Self, World, Partnership) and its ten commitments, enabling patients to construct their own stories, develop anxiety coping skills (psychological resilience), and cultivate a supportive inner voice (self-compassion).
|
|
No Intervention: Control Group
Participants in this group did not receive any additional psychosocial or nursing interventions between the dates of completing the pre-test and post-test forms.
They completed the process continuing only with their routine clinical psychiatric follow-ups and medical treatments at the healthcare institution where they were registered.

Primary Outcome Measures
Primary Outcome Measures
Outcome Measure |
Measure Description |
Time Frame |
|---|---|---|
|
Change in Psychological Resilience Scale Score
Time Frame: Baseline (Week 0, pre-test 1 day before intervention) and Post-test (Week 8, 1 day after completion of the 8-week intervention)
|
Change in psychological resilience levels as measured by the Resilience Scale for Adults (33 items, 5-point Likert scale).
Minimum score is 33 and maximum score is 165.
Higher scores indicate higher levels of psychological resilience (better outcome).
Pre-test was administered at Week 0 before intervention, and post-test was administered at Week 8 immediately following the 8-week intervention.

Measure Description |
Time Frame |

|
Change in Self-Compassion Scale Score
Time Frame: Baseline (Week 0, pre-test 1 day before intervention) and Post-test (Week 8, 1 day after completion of the 8-week intervention)
|
Change in self-compassion levels as measured by the Turkish version of the Self-Compassion Scale (Deniz, Kesici, & Sumer, 2008; 24 items, 5-point Likert scale).
Minimum score is 24 and maximum score is 120.
Higher scores indicate higher levels of self-compassion (better outcome).
Pre-test was administered at Week 0 before intervention, and post-test was administered at Week 8 immediately following the 8-week intervention.
