Pilates vs. Core Stabilization for Balance and Mobility in Elderly Type 2 Diabetics (PCE-DM2)
Impact of Pilates Versus Core Stabilization Exercises on Balance Deficits and Functional Mobility in Elderly Patients With Type 2 Diabetes
This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate and compare the effects of a 6-week Pilates-based rehabilitation program versus core stabilization exercises on balance deficits, postural sway, and functional mobility in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes. The study seeks to determine which intervention is more effective in improving neuromuscular control, stability, and overall functional independence in this geriatric diabetic population.

Detaljeret beskrivelse
Type 2 diabetes mellitus in elderly individuals is frequently associated with peripheral neuropathy, reduced muscle strength, and balance impairment, leading to an increased risk of falls. Both Pilates and core stabilization exercises are non-pharmacological interventions used to enhance core stability, proprioception, and functional performance.
