상세 설명
배경: 외상성 뇌손상(TBI)으로 매년 미국에서 약 50,000명이 사망합니다. 생존자의 약 17%는 "혼수 상태" 기간을 가집니다. 혼수 상태의 지속 시간은 기능적 결과에 크게 기여합니다.
목적: TBI 후 혼수 상태 또는 지속적인 식물 상태에 있는 사람의 각성과 각성도를 개선하기 위한 감각 자극의 효과에 대한 증거를 평가합니다.
데이터 소스 및 연구 적격성 기준: 검색된 데이터베이스에는 Medline, PsycINFO, CINAHL, OTseeker 및 Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews가 포함됩니다. 검색은 2006년에서 2014년 사이에 피어 리뷰 저널에 영어로 출판된 Sackett과 동료(1996)가 설명한 계층 구조의 결과 연구로 제한되었습니다.

혼수상태 또는 식물인간 상태에 있는 사람
TBI에서 살아남은 사람들은 자신이나 주변 환경에 대한 인식 없이 완전한 무의식 상태 또는 혼수 상태에 빠지며 다중 모드 또는 단모드 감각 자극을 받습니다.
혼수 상태에 있는 사람은 말하거나 명령을 따르거나 눈을 뜰 수 없습니다.
혼수 상태에 있는 사람은 접촉이나 통증에 대한 반응으로 단순 반사를 보일 수 있지만 본질적으로 외부 자극에 대한 의미 있는 반응은 없습니다.
외부 자극이 심한 상황에서도 자신과 환경에 대한 인식이 부족합니다.
혼수 상태는 뇌 손상의 정도에 따라 몇 시간에서 며칠까지 지속될 수 있으며 때로는 몇 달 또는 몇 년 동안 혼수 상태를 유지할 수 있습니다.
