Inklusjonskriterier:

  • Diagnostisert med systemisk lupus erythematosus (SLE) minst 24 uker før screeningbesøket
  • Møt European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR)/American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 2019 klassifiseringskriterier for SLE
  • En av følgende: positive antinukleære antistoffer (ANA) ≥ 1:80 ved screening ELLER positiv anti-dsDNA ELLER positiv anti Smith (anti Sm) som bestemt av sentrallaboratoriet ved screening

  • Total systemisk lupus erythematosus sykdomsaktivitetsindeks-2K (SLEDAI-2K) score ≥ 6 poeng og klinisk SLEDAI 2K-score ≥ 4 poeng med leddinvolvering og/eller kutan vaskulitt og/eller utslett

    •Lupushodepine, alopecia, organisk hjernesyndrom og slimhinnesår må registreres på SLEDAI 2K, hvis indisert, men teller ikke mot poengene som kreves for screening ved innreise

  • Minst én SLE-bakgrunnsterapi (immunsuppressiv og/eller antimalariamiddel) er nødvendig i ≥ 12 uker før screeningbesøket, må ha en stabil dose i ≥ 8 uker før screeningbesøket, og må være stabil frem til randomisering og gjennom hele studiedeltakelsen
  • Oral kortikosteroid (OCS; prednison eller tilsvarende) bakgrunnsbehandling er tillatt, men ikke nødvendig. For deltakere som tar OCS må dosen være stabil i ≥ 2 uker før screeningbesøket, ikke overstige 30 mg/dag ved screening, og må holde seg stabil frem til uke 4 besøk. Deltakerne kan være på en OCS samt et antimalariamiddel og/eller et immunsuppressivt middel

Ekskluderingskriterier:

  • Diagnose av medikamentindusert SLE snarere enn idiopatisk SLE
  • Andre autoimmune sykdommer (f.eks. multippel sklerose, psoriasis, inflammatorisk tarmsykdom, etc.) er ekskludert. Deltakere med type I autoimmun diabetes mellitus, autoimmun skjoldbruskkjertelsykdom, cøliaki eller sekundær Sjögrens syndrom er ikke ekskludert - SLE-overlappingssyndromer inkludert, men ikke begrenset til, revmatoid artritt, sklerodermi og blandet bindevevssykdom er ekskludert
  • Aktive eller ustabile lupus nevropsykiatriske manifestasjoner, inkludert, men ikke begrenset til, enhver tilstand definert av BILAG A-kriterier
  • Aktiv, alvorlig klasse III og IV, lupus nefritt som krever eller kan kreve behandling med cellegift eller høydose CS
  • Historie med medfødt eller ervervet immunsvikt
  • Kjent aktiv infeksjon, eller enhver større infeksjonsepisode som krever sykehusinnleggelse eller behandling med parenterale (intramuskulære eller IV) antimikrobielle midler (f.eks. antibiotika antivirale, antifungale eller antiparasittiske midler) innen 30 dager etter randomisering, eller behandling med orale antimikrobielle midler innen 2 uker av randomisering - Foreløpig på enhver terapi for kronisk infeksjon (f.eks. pneumocystis, herpes zoster, cytomegalovirus, invasive bakterie- eller soppinfeksjoner eller atypiske mykobakterier)
  • Tar mer enn 1 immundempende middel ved screening
