  • Posiada aktualną udokumentowaną diagnozę IH zgodnie z kryteriami Międzynarodowej Klasyfikacji Zaburzeń Snu, Trzecie Wydanie (ICSD-3) lub Wersja Tekstowa (ICSD-3-TR) z potwierdzającym polisomnogramem (PSG) z testem wielokrotnej latencji snu (MSLT); oraz, jeśli dotyczy, raport z aktigrafii z dzienniczkiem snu w dokumentacji, który doprowadził do diagnozy i został wykonany w ciągu ostatnich 10 lat.
  • Występują umiarkowane do bardzo ciężkie objawy IH.
  • Jeśli przyjmuje dozwolone przewlekłe leki lub suplementy współistniejące, w tym niedozwolone leki przeciwdepresyjne, musi być na stabilnej dawce przez co najmniej 3 miesiące przed badaniem przesiewowym i zgodzić się na kontynuowanie tej stabilnej dawki w okresie podwójnie ślepej próby badania. Nie jest dozwolone stosowanie jakiegokolwiek leczenia, które może wpływać na senność w ciągu dnia (w tym, ale nie tylko, stymulantów, modafinilu i armodafinilu) stosowanego w razie potrzeby.
  • Dla uczestników leczonych z powodu obturacyjnego bezdechu sennego (OSA) lub innych stanów hipowentylacji, muszą być zgodni z ich urządzeniem medycznym lub aparatem doustnym według oceny badacza. Uczestnicy muszą utrzymywać zgodność z leczeniem OSA przez cały okres badania.

  • Występuje hipersomnia spowodowana innym zaburzeniem medycznym.

  • Posiada pierwotną diagnozę choroby psychicznej, która nie jest dobrze kontrolowana.
  • Posiada historię umiarkowanej lub ciężkiej niewydolności wątroby.
  • Posiada szacunkową szybkość filtracji kłębuszkowej (eGFR) skorygowaną o powierzchnię ciała (BSA) <60 mL/min.
