FGF21 kan hjælpe med at forudsige arteriel stivhed målt ved kardio-ankel vaskulært indeks hos nyretransplanterede patienter (CAVIFGF21)
Patienter med kronisk nyresygdom (CKD) har høj forekomst af koronararterieproblemer efter nyretransplantation. Og forbliver en væsentlig årsag til dødelighed. Den største risikomarkør er arteriel stivhed. Det kardio-ankel vaskulære indeks (CAVI) er et nyt indeks for generel stivhed og kan estimere risikoen for åreforkalkning.
Fibroblast vækstfaktor 21 (FGF-21) er en metabolisk regulator, der spiller en vigtig rolle i kardial remodeling. Forhøjet FGF-21 er blevet rapporteret i koronar hjertesygdom eller carotis arterie plak og kunne være biomarkører for åreforkalkning. Efterforskere havde til formål at studere sammenhængen mellem CAVI og FGF-21 og deres relationer til forskellige parametre, der kan bidrage til hjertekarsygdomme, f.eks. homocystein Ekkokardiogram fund og andre traditionelle grundlæggende faktorer.

- som havde kontraindikation for CAVI
- nuværende ryger
- eGFR <15 ml/min/173
- hjertearrthymi
