Beschreibung
Einschlusskriterien:
- Genetisch bestätigter FSHD1 basierend auf einer Screening-Bewertung oder einer überprüfbaren Krankenakte
- Klinischer Schweregrad zwischen 3 und 8 (Skala 0 bis 10)
- Es müssen geeignete Muskeln der unteren Extremität für eine Biopsie vorhanden sein, wie anhand der MRT durch einen zentralen Befunder bestimmt
- Ein 12-Kanal-Elektrokardiogramm (EKG) beim Screening ohne Auffälligkeiten, die die Sicherheit des Teilnehmers in der Studie beeinträchtigen könnten
- Teilnehmer im gebärfähigen Alter und ihre Partner müssen während der Studie und für mindestens 12 Wochen nach Studienende oder der letzten Dosis der Studienmedikation, je nachdem, welcher Zeitpunkt später liegt, hochwirksame Verhütungsmittel anwenden. Männer dürfen während der Studie vom ersten Tag bis mindestens 12 Wochen nach Ende der Studie oder der letzten Dosis der Studienmedikation, je nachdem, welcher Zeitpunkt später liegt, kein Sperma spenden.
Ausschlusskriterien:
- Infektion mit dem humanen Immundefizienzvirus (HIV), nachgewiesen durch das Vorhandensein von Anti-HIV-Antikörpern (seropositiv) beim Screening
- Seropositiv für Hepatitis B (HBV) oder Hepatitis C (HCV) beim Screening
- Unkontrollierter Bluthochdruck
- Schwere Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankung
- Vorgeschichte thrombotischer Ereignisse
- Die Thrombozytenzahl liegt unter der unteren Normgrenze beim Screening
- Anamnese oder Vorliegen von: Hyperkoagulabilität, Proteinurie im nephrotischen Bereich, Antiphospholipid-Antikörper-Syndrom, myeloproliferativer Erkrankung, Gehunfähigkeit, Verwendung hormonbasierter Verhütungsmittel.
- Jegliche Kontraindikation für eine Muskelbiopsie oder MRT
