Kuvaus
Sisällyttämiskriteerit:
- ≥60-vuotiaat afroamerikkalaiset naiset
- BMI ≥30 kg/m2
- heikentynyt fyysinen toiminta (eli ne, jotka saavat 4–10 [/12] lyhyen fyysisen suorituskyvyn akusta [SPPB])
- Vakaa ruumiinpaino (± 2 kg 6 kuukautta ennen tutkimusta)
- Istuva (enintään 1 tunti viikossa)
Ehdolliset osallistumiskriteerit:
Tyypin 2 diabetesta sairastavat, insuliinia tai sulfonyyliureaa käyttävät saavat osallistua tutkimukseen vain, jos heidän tarjoajansa suostuvat hallitsemaan mahdolliseen painonpudotukseen liittyviä muuttuvia lääkitysvaatimuksia allekirjoittamalla "Lupa osallistua" -lomakkeen. On tärkeää ottaa tyypin 2 diabeetikot mukaan insuliiniin ja sulfonyyliureoihin, koska nämä osallistujat voivat hyötyä suuresti painonpudotuksesta.
Poissulkemiskriteerit:
- Tyypin 2 diabeetikoille insuliinia tai sulfonyyliureoita ilman palveluntarjoajan hyväksyntää
- nykyinen syöpädiagnoosi
- sellaisten lääkkeiden käyttö, joiden uskotaan vaikuttavan aineenvaihduntaan, painoon, energiankulutukseen tai ruokahaluun
- vakava psykiatrinen häiriö
- tällä hetkellä kohtalaisia tai vaikeita masennuksen oireita
- dementia
- neurologiset sairaudet, jotka aiheuttavat toimintarajoituksia
- epävakaa lääketieteellinen sairaus, kuten epästabiili angina pectoris, äskettäinen sydäninfarkti tai kongestiivinen sydämen vajaatoiminta, luokka III-IV
- terminaalit sairaudet

Quality of Life (QoL) as Measured by 36-item Short Form Survey (SF-36) - General Health
Aikaikkuna: Baseline, 3 months, 6 months
|
The SF-36 consists of eight scaled scores, which are the weighted sums of the questions in their section.
Each scale is directly transformed into a 0-100 scale on the assumption that each question carries equal weight.
The lower the score the more disability.
The higher the score the less disability, i.e., a score of zero is equivalent to maximum disability and a score of 100 is equivalent to no disability.
