本プロジェクトの目的は、ヘッドマウントディスプレイ(HMD)を通じて使用する安全で効果的な動的認知支援アプリケーションを開発し、救急医療サービス(EMS)による小児薬物投与(PMA)に関連するエラー率を低減することです。 この目的は、PMAに関連する特性を調査し、デザイン思考プロセスを用いてプロトタイプアプリケーションを開発し、プロトタイプの使用性を検証し、無作為化比較試験で安全性と有効性をテストすることによって達成されます。
EMSにおけるPMAに関連するエラーは驚くほど高い水準にあります。 多くの研究により、EMSが小児に投与するすべての薬剤におけるエラー率は31%であることが示されています。 ミダゾラムやフェンタニルなどの薬剤では、それぞれ61%、65%とさらに高いエラー率が報告されており、その多くは10倍の誤差を含みます。 残念ながら、従来の戦略ではエラー率を31%以下に低減することにほとんど効果がありませんでした。 システム変更は、EMSシステムの不整合や薬剤不足に関連する課題のために失敗しています。 以前に開発された認知支援ツールは、一般的に単純な参照ツールとして機能し、PMAに関連するすべてのエラーの原因に対処しないため、しばしば不十分でした。 その結果、私たちはこの問題に対処するために、これまでで最も包括的な設計プロセスを提案し、先進技術を活用して、PMA中の投与精度を向上させるための動的認知支援を実装します。
