Inclusiecriteria:
Gezonde vrijwilligers:
-Leeftijd 20-80
PAD-patiënten:
- Milde claudicatio om pijn te rusten (Rutherford 1-4)
- Rusten of oefenen ABI < 0,9 of TBI < 0,6
- 40 jaar en ouder
OA-patiënten:
-Onderste ledematen (heup of knie) OA
Uitsluitingscriteria:
PAD, OA-patiënten en gezonde vrijwilligers:
- Plan om binnen een maand een chirurgische ingreep of PVI te ondergaan voor de behandeling van PAD
- Bewijs van actieve infectie
- Overgevoeligheid of allergie voor vis of zeevruchten
- Al op n-3 PUFA of gelijkwaardig
- Chronische leverziekte, terminale nierziekte (CKD 5) of chronische ontstekingsaandoeningen
- Slecht gecontroleerde diabetes (HbA1C > 8%)
- BMI < 20 of > 35
- Recente andere grote operatie of ziekte binnen 30 dagen
- Gebruik van immunosuppressiva of steroïden
- Geschiedenis van orgaantransplantatie
- Zwangerschap, of plannen om zwanger te worden, of borstvoeding
Gezonde vrijwilligers:
- hsCRP > 2mg/L
- Regelmatig gebruik van aspirine
- Regelmatig gebruik van niet-steroïde anti-inflammatoire geneesmiddelen

PAD-patiënten en gezonde vrijwilligers in studie voor SPM-emulsie, dosismodaliteit.

Fase 1a Dosisbepaling orale SPM-toediening van toenemende dosis (15 ml, 30 ml en 60 ml) volgens het volgende schema: Dag 1 tot 5: 15 ml; Dag 6 tot 14: Washout, geen SPM-toediening; Dag 15 tot 19: 30 ml; Dagen 20-28: Washout, geen SPM-toediening; Dag 29-33: 60 ml
