Description
Inclusion Criteria:
- adults presenting for routine thyroid biopsy, paracentesis or thoracentesis in interventional radiology
Exclusion Criteria:
- Patients requiring sedation
- Patients with altered mental status
- Children
- Patients allergic to lidocaine or sodium bicarbonate
