Kritéria začlenění: Kritéria začlenění zahrnují všechny rodiny z Mescalero Apache, Jemez Pueblo a Ramah Navajo s dítětem čtvrté a páté třídy a jejich rodiče nebo opatrovníky a prarodiče, kteří se dobrovolně přihlásí k účasti.

Experimentální: Programová skupina
Členové kmenového výzkumného týmu rekrutují účastníky zasláním dopisů domů dětem ze čtvrté a páté třídy.
Tento dopis poskytuje přehled FL/CP a vyzývá zainteresované rodiče a děti, aby se dozvěděli více.
Členové týmu TRT a UNM individuálně sledují zainteresované rodiče.
Pokud se rodiny zavázaly být součástí FL/CP, je naplánována schůzka, která provede proces informovaného souhlasu a dokončí předběžný test.
Rodiny v programové skupině pak navštěvují sezení FL/CP, které pokrývají mezigenerační kulturně přizpůsobené kurikulum.
Programové rodiny se také účastní různých aspektů programu, včetně dokončení komunitního akčního projektu.

Každé setkání začíná společnou večeří s rodinami, které jedí společně.
Pak si procvičte jejich indická a klanová jména.
Sezení vedou facilitátoři v jejich vlastním jazyce nebo dvojjazyčně.
Facilitátoři poté rozdělí rodiny do skupin dětí a dospělých, aby se zabývali tématem sezení, a na konci sezení se pak společně vrátí, aby se podělili o své poznatky.
Sezení vždy končí tak, že si děti a dospělí zapíší do deníků, což jsou jednotlivé stránky, které pak vloží do pořadačů učebních osnov.
Rodiny pak dostanou svou „domácí praxi“, což je úkol, který rodiny dělají společně během týdne, který je mezi nimi.
Facilitátoři po každém sezení shromažďují kurikula, aby je příští týden přinesli rodinám.

Po obdržení dopisu budou rodiny, které se rozhodly neúčastnit nebo které odmítly účastnit, pozvány k účasti ve výzkumné studii jako srovnávací účastníci.
Účastníci srovnání nenavštěvují sezení FL/CP a absolvují pouze pre-, post a 1 rok post testy.
