Bevételi kritériumok:
- A betegeknek I. vagy II. típusú diabetes mellitusban kell szenvedniük.
- Klinikailag diagnosztizált pozitív szenzoros tünetei vannak, mint például zsibbadás, szúró fájdalom, égő fájdalom, sajgó fájdalom, allodynia és szúró érzés, amelyek 5 évnél nem régebbi, de 6 hónapig stabilak.
- 12%-nál kisebb vagy egyenlő HbA1C-vel rendelkezik. A 9%-nál nagyobb HbA1C-értékkel rendelkező betegeknek inzulinkezelésben kell részesülniük.
- 18 éves vagy idősebbnek kell lennie.
