Descrizione
Criterio di inclusione:
- Diagnosi confermata di carcinoma intraepatico primario o metastatico
- Il cancro deve essere non resecabile con opzioni terapeutiche stabilite limitate
- Punteggio ECOG Performance Status 0-2
- Età 19 anni o più
- In grado di comprendere e fornire il consenso informato scritto
Criteri di esclusione:
- Eventuali risultati di laboratorio pre-trattamento entro 15 giorni dal trattamento che dimostrino:
- Conta assoluta dei granulociti ≤ 1.500/ul
- Conta piastrinica ≤ 75.000/ul
- Creatinina sierica > 2,0 mg/dl
- Bilirubina sierica ≥ 2,0 mg/dl
- Qualsiasi delle seguenti controindicazioni all'angiografia e al cateterismo viscerale selettivo:
- Storia di grave allergia o intolleranza a qualsiasi mezzo di contrasto, narcotici, sedativi o atropina
- Sanguinamento, diatesi, non correggibili con le usuali forme di terapia
- Grave malattia vascolare periferica che precluderebbe il cateterismo
- Sostanziale shunt venoso lontano dal fegato
- Evidenza di un potenziale rilascio di radiazioni ai polmoni superiore a 11 mCi (dose assorbita di 20 Gy) a 1) prima somministrazione di Therasphere®; o 2) consegna cumulativa di radiazioni ai polmoni su più trattamenti
- Evidenza di qualsiasi flusso rilevabile di Tc-99 MAA allo stomaco o al duodeno, applicazione di tecniche angiografiche consolidate per arrestare tale flusso
- Malattia extraepatica significativa che rappresenta un imminente esito di una situazione pericolosa per la vita
- Grave disfunzione epatica o insufficienza polmonare
- Infezione attiva incontrollata
- Malattia medica o psichiatrica sottostante significativa
- Le donne in gravidanza non possono partecipare
