In deze proef analyseerden de onderzoekers de effecten van acht weken CLA-suppletie geassocieerd met aërobe oefening op lichaamsvet en lipidenprofiel bij zwaarlijvige vrouwen.

Het doel van dit onderzoek was om de effecten te analyseren van acht weken CLA-suppletie geassocieerd met aërobe oefening op lichaamsvet en lipidenprofiel bij zwaarlijvige vrouwen.
De onderzoekers voerden een gerandomiseerde, dubbelblinde en placebogecontroleerde studie uit met 28 zwaarlijvige vrouwen die 3,2 g/d CLA of 4 g/d olijfolie kregen (placebogroep) terwijl ze een 8 weken durend protocol van aërobe oefening uitvoerden.
Voedingsinname (voedselregistratie), lichaamsvet (DXA) en biochemische analyse (bloedmonster) werden voor en na de interventieperiode beoordeeld.

Inclusiecriteria:
- Had geen tekenen of symptomen van ziekte
- Geen orthopedische verwondingen
- Moet inactief of matig actief zijn (gedefinieerd als het uitvoeren van elke vorm van lichaamsbeweging minder dan twee keer per week)
- Moeten niet-rokers zijn
- Moet vrij zijn van het gebruik van ergogene hulpmiddelen
- Had geen stofwisselingsstoornissen of chronische degeneratieve ziekten
- Gebruik geen medicamenteuze behandeling voor verlies van lichaamsmassa.
Uitsluitingscriteria:
- Frequentie naar trainingssessies lager dan 85% van het totale aantal sessies
