Preventie van tandimplantaatziekten: vroege diagnose en monitoring in klinisch werk en verbeterd onderhoud van de mondgezondheid thuis

De hypothese is dat antibacteriële fotodynamische therapie de weefselgezondheid verbetert door ontstekingen te verminderen zonder enige bijwerking.
Studiedeelnemers zullen worden uitgenodigd vanuit een tandheelkundige kliniek in Tampere, Finland, van de patiënten van een mondhygiënistenpraktijk. Deelnemers worden gerandomiseerd naar de behandelings- en controlegroep met behulp van de methode met gesloten envelop. Deelnemers aan de behandelingsgroep krijgen een Lumoral®-behandeling volgens het protocol van de fabrikant, eenmaal daags gedurende 10 minuten gedurende 15 dagen en daarna tweemaal daags gedurende 15 dagen.

Beschrijving
Inclusiecriteria:
- Een of meer tandheelkundige implantaten
- Diagnose van peri-implantitis
- Uitdagingen bij het handhaven van hoge mondzorgnormen voor zelfzorg
- Ouder dan 25 jaar
Uitsluitingscriteria:
- Eventuele antibiotica binnen 6 maanden voorafgaand aan deelname aan de studie

Verbetering van bloeden bij sonderen (BOP) Een volledige beoordeling van de mond op zes plaatsen per tand (mesiobuccaal, buccaal, distobuccaal, mesiolinguaal, linguaal, distolinguaal) Gingivale bloeding wordt als positief beschouwd als bloeding optreedt binnen 15 seconden na voorzichtig sonderen met een sonde bij de sulcus Dichotome score op elke plaats van de tand als bloeding "1 aanwezig" en "0 afwezig" BOP wordt gerapporteerd als het percentage (%) plaatsen met positieve bevindingen Berekeningsformule: aantal bloedingsplaatsen / 6 keer aantal tanden |
