Atazanavir for HIV-infiserte individer: et program for tidlig tilgang

Formålet med denne kliniske forskningsstudien er å gi atazanavir til pasienter infisert med humant immunsviktvirus (HIV) hvis antivirale medisiner ikke lenger virker for å kontrollere HIV-aktiviteten i kroppen og som ikke er i stand til å lage et nytt behandlingsregime ved å bruke andre tilgjengelige anti- HIV-legemidler, enten på grunn av bivirkninger eller behandlingssvikt tidligere tatt. Beskrivelse

Viktige inkluderingskriterier:

Pasienter som er kvalifisert for inkludering i EAP er de som er en virologisk svikt på grunn av resistens, intoleranse og/eller adherensproblemer med gjeldende anti-HIV-medisiner;
ELLER har flere toksisiteter eller intoleranse overfor anti-HIV-medisiner, men er ikke en virologisk svikt;
ELLER har alvorlig forhøyede lipider i blodet (f.eks. kolesterol, triglyserider) som ikke reagerer på lipidsenkende medisiner.

Nøkkelekskluderingskriterier:

Restriksjoner gjelder for bruk av atazanavir sammen med spesifikke medisiner som kan ha potensial til å forårsake mulige bivirkninger når de tas sammen.
Pasienter vil også bli ekskludert av en av følgende årsaker: 1) graviditet eller amming, 2) forhøyede leverenzymer, 3) betydelig kardiovaskulær sykdom eller 4) andre restriksjoner som angitt i protokollen.
