Igler for behandling av kneartrose

Enkel og gjentatt leech-terapi for behandling av senfase kneartrose. En randomisert, placebokontrollert komparativ studie
Tidligere studier har ikke adressert spørsmålet om en gjentatt leeching kan gi symptomatisk lindring av slitasjegikt smerte over lengre perioder.
Vi presenterer en randomisert studie av effektiviteten av enkelt- og gjentatt igleterapi i tilfeller med avansert artrose i kneet ved bruk av en stor pasientgruppe sammenlignet med en kontrollgruppe, som begge var blindet for den faktiske behandlingsmodaliteten.

Inklusjonskriterier:
- Artrose i kneet
- Vedvarende artrosesymptomer i minst 6 måneder
- Radiografisk bevis på slitasjegikt i senstadiet i kneet (stadium III-IV)
- Historie om konservativ behandling inkludert smertestillende medisiner og fysioterapi
Ekskluderingskriterier:
- Antikoagulantbehandling eller historie med hemofili
- Anamnese eller tilstedeværelse av revmatiske sykdommer som fører til sekundær slitasjegikt
- Tilstedeværelse av hematologisk, hepatisk, nyre- eller immunologisk sykdom
- Insulinavhengig diabetes mellitus
- Intraartikulære injeksjoner eller systemisk bruk av kortikosteroider i løpet av de 3 foregående månedene
- Historie om operasjon av det berørte kneet i løpet av de siste 3 månedene eller leddutskifting
- Historie om tidligere igleterapi
- Mangel på informert samtykke
