Iglar för behandling av knäartros

Singel och upprepad Leech Therapy för behandling av senskede av knäartros. En randomiserad, placebokontrollerad jämförande studie
Tidigare studier har inte behandlat frågan huruvida en upprepad leeching kan ge symptomatisk lindring av artros smärta under längre tidsperioder.
Vi presenterar en randomiserad studie av effektiviteten av enstaka och upprepade blodiglarbehandlingar i fall med avancerad artros i knäet med en stor patientgrupp jämfört med en kontrollgrupp, som båda var blinda för den faktiska behandlingsformen.

Inklusionskriterier:
- Artros i knäet
- Ihållande artrossymptom i minst 6 månader
- Röntgenbevis på sen artros i knäet (stadium III-IV)
- Historik av konservativ behandling inklusive smärtstillande medicin och sjukgymnastik
Exklusions kriterier:
- Antikoagulantbehandling eller historia av hemofili
- Historik eller förekomst av reumatiska sjukdomar som leder till sekundär artros
- Förekomst av hematologisk, lever-, njur- eller immunologisk sjukdom
- Insulinberoende diabetes mellitus
- Intraartikulära injektioner eller systemisk applicering av kortikosteroider under de 3 föregående månaderna
- Historik om operation av det drabbade knäet under de senaste 3 månaderna eller ledbyte
- Historik om tidigare blodigleterapi
- Brist på informerat samtycke
