Studien tar sikte på å finne ut om det å motta anbefalinger for sunnere eller mer miljømessig bærekraftige bytter (eller begge deler) i et nettbutikkmiljø forbedrer helsen og miljømessig bærekraft for forbrukernes mat- og drikkekjøp sammenlignet med å handle som vanlig uten bytteanbefalinger. Detaljert beskrivelse

Deltakerne vil fullføre et online randomisert eksperiment mellom fag. Forsøket vil innebære tre studiebesøk.

I det første studiebesøket vil deltakerne fullføre en handleoppgave på nettbutikken uten innblanding. Deltakerne vil få et budsjett på $50 og bedt om å handle som de normalt ville gjort. Butikken vil registrere deltakernes valg. Etter å ha fullført handleoppgaven, vil deltakerne fullføre en nettbasert spørreundersøkelse.

Omtrent en uke senere vil deltakerne gjennomføre et andre studiebesøk med de samme instruksjonene. De vil bli randomisert til 1 av 4 tilstander (1) kun helse, 2) kun miljø, 3) kombinert helse og miljø, 4) kontroll. I tilstanden kun for helse vil deltakerne se etiketter med helsekarakterer og kan bli bedt om å bytte ut valgene sine med sunnere varer.
