Beschreibung
Einschlusskriterien:
- Weibliche oder männliche Patienten mit der Diagnose einer klinisch gesicherten oder klinisch wahrscheinlichen MSA gemäß den neuen Kriterien der Movement Disorder Society (MDS) für die MSA-Diagnose (2022), einschließlich Patienten mit MSA eines der beiden Subtypen (MSA-P oder MSA-C). .
Patienten im Frühstadium der Erkrankung, definiert als maximal 5 Jahre seit dem Auftreten eines der folgenden mit MSA verbundenen Symptome:
- Parkinsonismus
- Ataxia
- Orthostatische Hypotonie und/oder Harnfunktionsstörung
- Patienten mit einem UMSARS 1-Gesamtscore (ohne Punkt 1.11 Sexualfunktion) von ≤ 17.
- Patienten mit einer voraussichtlichen Überlebenszeit von mindestens 3 Jahren nach Meinung des Prüfarztes.
- Patienten, die in der Lage sind, ohne die Hilfe einer anderen Person zu gehen, sind definiert als die Fähigkeit, mindestens 10 Schritte zu gehen und sich dann umzudrehen und mindestens weitere 10 Schritte zu gehen. Die Verwendung von Hilfsmitteln (z. B. Gehhilfe oder Gehstock) ist erlaubt.
- Fähigkeit, orale Medikamente zu schlucken und bereit zu sein, sich an das Studieninterventionsschema zu halten.
Ausschlusskriterien:
- Schwangere oder stillende Weibchen.
- Patienten mit einem klinisch signifikanten oder instabilen medizinischen oder chirurgischen Zustand außer MSA, der nach Ansicht des Prüfers einen sicheren Abschluss der Studie verhindern oder die Ergebnisse der Studie beeinträchtigen könnte (z. B. pulmonale, kardiovaskuläre [einschließlich Bradyarrhythmie], Makulaödem und erhebliche Nieren- oder Leberfunktionsstörung).
- Andere neurologische Erkrankungen/Störungen als MSA, wie Parkinson-Krankheit, Demenz mit Lewy-Körpern, essentieller Tremor, progressive supranukleäre Parese, spinozerebelläre Ataxie, spastische Paraparese, kortikobasale Degeneration oder vaskulärer, Normaldruckhydrozephalus, pharmakologischer oder postenzephalitischer Parkinsonismus.
- Patienten mit dokumentierten Lebererkrankungen oder Leberzirrhose.
- Positive Ergebnisse beim Screening auf aktive Virusinfektionen, darunter positives Humanes Immundefizienzvirus (HIV), Hepatitis-B-Oberflächenantigen (HBsAg) und Hepatitis-B-Kernantikörper sowie Hepatitis-C-Virus (HCV).
- Patienten mit Suizidgedanken gemäß der klinischen Beurteilung des Prüfarztes gemäß der Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) beim Screening oder die in den 6 Monaten vor dem Screening einen Suizidversuch unternommen haben.
