Detaillierte Beschreibung
Neugeborener Lupus ist eine Krankheit, die bei Babys von Müttern auftritt, die Antikörper gegen SSA/Ro- und/oder SSB/La-Proteine haben. Die Mutter kann systemischen Lupus erythematodes, Sjögren-Syndrom haben oder anderweitig gesund sein. Herzblock und ein charakteristischer Hautausschlag sind die primären Manifestationen des neonatalen Lupus.
Das Research Registry for Neonatal Lupus wurde 1994 ins Leben gerufen, um Grundlagenwissenschaftlern und Klinikern dabei zu helfen, die Ursache von Lupus bei Neugeborenen besser zu verstehen und ein Heilmittel zu finden. Das Forschungsregister ist ein zentraler Aufbewahrungsort für Patienteninformationen, Seren und DNA. Das Register stellt Wissenschaftlern, die neonatalen Lupus untersuchen, Blutproben (anonym gehalten) zur Verfügung. Informationen aus dem Register bilden die Grundlage für die Familienberatung und verfolgen wichtige Daten wie Rezidivraten bei Folgeschwangerschaften und die Wirkung von Behandlungen. Das Forschungsregister dient auch als Bildungsressource für Frauen, die mehr über diese Krankheit erfahren möchten.
Frauen mit einem Kind, das von neonatalem Lupus betroffen ist, können sich in das Register eintragen. Frauen können selbst überwiesen oder von ihren Ärzten überwiesen werden. Geschwister von Frauen mit einem Kind, das von neonatalem Lupus betroffen ist, Väter und Großeltern mütterlicherseits von Kindern mit neonatalem Lupus und nicht betroffene Geschwister eines Kindes mit neonatalem Lupus sind ebenfalls zur Teilnahme an dieser Studie eingeladen. Alle Informationen über die Mutter und ihre Familie sind vertraulich; Den Forschern werden nur nicht identifizierende Informationen zur Verfügung gestellt. Frauen, die sich für das Register interessieren, erhalten Artikel und Schulungsmaterialien über Lupus bei Neugeborenen, ein Einwilligungsformular für das Register und einen Registrierungsfragebogen. Die Teilnehmer werden gebeten, ein Formular zur Freigabe medizinischer Aufzeichnungen zu unterzeichnen. Die Teilnehmer werden auch gebeten, eine Blutprobe für Antikörpertests und DNA-Isolierung zu spenden.

Einschlusskriterien:
- Mutter mit Antikörpern gegen SSA/Ro, SSB/La oder Ribonukleoproteine (RNP) ODER Kind einer Mutter mit solchen Antikörpern, die neonatalen Lupus hat (angeborener Herzblock, vorübergehender Hautausschlag und/oder hepatische oder hämatologische Manifestationen) ODER Vater von neonatalem Lupus -betroffenes Kind ODER Großeltern mütterlicherseits eines von neonatalem Lupus betroffenen Kindes ODER Tanten und Onkel mütterlicherseits eines von neonatalem Lupus betroffenen Kindes ODER nicht betroffene Geschwister eines von neonatalem Lupus betroffenen Kindes
