L'intestin produit environ 95 % de la sérotonine (5-hydroxytryptamine ; 5-HT) présente dans le corps humain ; où, c'est une molécule de signalisation muqueuse très importante participant à la motilité, à la sensation et à la sécrétion intestinales. La grande majorité de la 5-HT dérivée de l'intestin est produite par des cellules épithéliales spécialisées du tractus gastro-intestinal, appelées cellules entérochromaffines (EC). Les cellules EC produisent du 5-HT à partir du tryptophane alimentaire, ce processus implique l'enzyme limitant la vitesse du tryptophane hydroxylase (TPH) 1, une fois produit, ce 5-HT peut être libéré dans la lumière intestinale, les tissus environnants et peut pénétrer dans la circulation sanguine.5-HT médie de nombreuses fonctions gastro-intestinales, y compris la sécrétion et le péristaltisme, en agissant sur une gamme variée de récepteurs 5-HT. Cinq des sept familles de récepteurs connues de la 5-HT (5-HT1, 5-HT2, 5-HT3, 5-HT4 et 5-HT7) sont exprimées dans l'intestin.
La 5-HT a été évaluée dans les MICI et dans des modèles animaux de colite. Une augmentation du nombre de cellules EC exprimant la 5-HT est observée chez les patients CD et UC et la consommation d'inhibiteurs sélectifs de la recapture de la 5-HT est associée à une colite microscopique. Dans la présente étude, nous prévoyons d'étudier les éléments clés de la signalisation muqueuse 5-HT chez les patients atteints de MC afin de mieux comprendre le rôle de la 5-HT dans la pathogenèse des MII.

Critère d'intégration:
- Groupes de patients : diagnostic de la maladie (MC ou CU), durée de la maladie, traitement antérieur/type de traitement, durée du traitement et pronostic de la maladie.
- Témoins sains : aucun diagnostic de MC ou de CU et aucun diagnostic d'IBS.
Critère d'exclusion:
- Groupes de patients : médicaments qui affectent directement les composants de la signalisation 5-HT, toute autre maladie ou affection susceptible d'interférer avec les évaluations de l'étude, à en juger par l'investigateur.
- Témoins sains : utilisation chronique de tout médicament anti-inflammatoire, médicament qui affecte directement les composants de la signalisation 5-HT et toute autre maladie ou affection susceptible d'interférer avec les évaluations de l'étude, à en juger par l'investigateur.
