この提案は、軽度から中等度のアルツハイマー病および関連する認知症(ADRD)患者の嚥下関連転帰に対する2つの新しい介入の影響を決定し、これらの介入から利益を得る可能性が最も高い患者のサブグループを特定するための小規模なランダム化臨床試験で構成されています。 患者と介護者のペアは、言語強化、代用唾液の使用、2 つの組み合わせ、または通常のケアのみに無作為に割り付けられます。 唾液および嚥下関連の結果は、ベースライン時および8週間の介入期間後に収集されます。
