この臨床試験の目的は、補聴器や人工内耳などの聴覚機器が高齢者の社会機能や認知機能に影響を与えるかどうかを調べることです。 研究者が答えたい主な質問は次のとおりです。

参加者が行うこと:
- 参加者は約60分間アンケートに答えます。 アンケートでは、参加者に自分の経歴、健康状態、聴力、社交性について尋ねます。 別の一連のアンケートでは、彼らの思考能力や認知力がチェックされます。
- 参加者は音声センサーを2週間装着します。 センサーは、会話中の参加者の音声に関する情報を収集して保存します。 デバイスが参加者の声のピッチやトーンなどの情報を取得すると、この情報が保存され、音声録音が削除されます。 会話中に発した言葉は削除されます。
- (オプション) 参加者は、45 ~ 60 分間の EEG (脳波) 記録セッションへの参加を選択できます。 参加者は頭の上にセンサーを装着します。 センサーは参加者の脳波を記録します。 音を鳴らして、音を聞いた参加者の脳波がどのように変化するかを確認します。
